Greg Raymer hacked

Greg Raymer, the winner of 2004 WSOP Main Event, had his account at Poker Stars hacked. The hacker used brute force and numerous attempts to guess his password. It was successful and when he was logged in he opened up severeal heads-up sit n go tournaments and began to chipdump over the table.

What the hacker didn't think of was that the play of Greg Raymer usually have dozens of railbirds. Some of them saw the strange chipdumping happening and contacted security.

Poker Stars security contacted Raymer and confirmed he was not the one playing and froze all the accounts involved and moved the money back to Raymers account.

Greg admitted to not have chosen the strongest password, and hopefully this little incident will make Poker Stars think about their security and update the login procedure to get rid of these kinds of attempts.
