PPA Passes Around Important Petition
The Poker Players Alliance, the leading poker grassroots
advocacy group, is asking for help to protect our right to play
online poker in the US, by gathering signatures for a new poker
petition destined for President Obama's desk.
This important petition, asks Obama to recognize the number one
technology issue from his own Citizen's Briefing Book and to
support and protect American poker players by both exempting poker
from the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act), and by
licensing and regulating the game in the US.
This online petition, which is already approaching 50,000
signatures, will be presented to President Obama on July 22nd as
part of the PPA's National Poker Week (7/19-7/25) and is gaining
momentum, not only from coverage on poker news sites, but from
internet poker rooms as well, such as PokerStars.com which is
offering players a free entry into a $3,500 freeroll just for
signing the free petition.
